ALFRED, NY – The Oswego Lakers (1-2) earned their first win of the season with a 7-3 victory over the Alfred Saxons (1-2) on Saturday, powered by a dominant second-half performance.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Oswego overcame an early deficit after Alfred's Cole Loewke opened the scoring in the first quarter. The Lakers responded in the second quarter with goals from
Hayden Coney and
Gavin Elston, taking a 2-1 lead into halftime.
The Lakers continued to build momentum in the third quarter, as
Trey Jones and
Corey O'Connor extended the lead to 4-2. Oswego's offense surged in the final quarter, with
Garrett Elston netting two goals, including one in the closing seconds, while Jones added another to secure the 7-3 victory.
Garrett Elston led Oswego with two goals and an assist, while Jones scored twice. Alfred's offense was led by Loewke, Marcus Darminio, and Peter Colburn, each scoring once.
Defensively, Oswego capitalized on Alfred's mistakes, forcing 21 turnovers compared to their own 12. Goalkeeper
Seamus Hand anchored the Lakers' defense with 11 saves.
Despite a strong showing in faceoffs, winning 11 of 14, Alfred struggled to convert opportunities, failing to capitalize on four extra-man chances.
