GAME 2:
THE BASICS
Oswego 10 (21-11, 10-4 SUNYAC)
Oneonta 7 (21-11-1, 9-5 SUNYAC)
Laker Baseball Field | Oswego, NY
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Oneonta again came out of a cannon to start this one. Anthony Foglia had himself a day as he picked up a RBI on a double in the first. Ryan Cronin would then hit a sac fly to score Foglia. The Red Dragons were up 2 in the first frame.
- It was a double party, and all the Red Dragons were invited. Nick Jacoby and Josh Gilkey would both pick up a 2-bagger. 3 runs would come out of them and Oneonta had a commanding, 5 run lead in the second.
- Rosenberg also got an invitation to the double party and he sent Harrington and McGowan home with his circus blast into left center. Oswego made this lead a touch more manageable as they only were down 3.
- Tishawn Featherstone would lead off the bottom of the fifth with a fence clearer as this was his 3rd dinger of the season. It was now 5-3 with the Red Dragons still in the driver's seat.
- Oneonta in the top of the sixth wouldn't be able to respond but Tishawn Featherstone would hit yet another bomb in the bottom half of the frame. Everyone in attendance knew right when the ball made contact with the bat that the senior would be trotting around the bases yet again. This one came with 3 RBIs for the Lakers which gave them the lead, 6-5. Oswego wasn't done yet though. Dylan Rosenberg nuked one out to center field to give the Lakers 1 more run and a 7-5 lead to close out the sixth.
- Joey Dwyer, clutch as can be, smoked a 2 RBI single into right field scoring Cronin and Foglia. This game was all squared up at 7.
- In the bottom of the 8th, A walk and HBP with the bases loaded would give the gift of 2 runs to the Lakers. Oneonta would bring in the southpaw Domonic Colarusso and he would hit yet another Laker with the bases juiced. Oswego would now lead 10-7 going into the final inning.
- Oneonta would go 1-2-3 due to a masterpiece of an inning from Alek Conrad and Oswego would win the game and take the series.
