HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1
Morrisville struck early with two runs in the bottom of the first, capitalizing on a two-out, two-run single from Kendrick. Oswego answered in the third inning after
Lillian Haggerty reached on a walk and came around to score on an error, trimming the lead to 2–1.
Oswego had multiple opportunities throughout the game, drawing four walks and putting runners in scoring position, but couldn't find the timely hits needed.
Kira Wright and
Kylie Detz provided the only two hits for the Lakers, with Wright also adding a stolen base.
Defensively, two errors proved costly, particularly in the fourth inning when Morrisville pushed across an insurance run following a pair of miscues and a double steal.
On the mound,
Maria Lutz delivered a complete-game effort, going six innings while allowing just five hits and three earned runs, striking out seven. She kept the Mustangs in check for most of the game, but Oswego's offense couldn't find a rhythm against Morrisville starter Kaylor, who struck out eight in a complete-game victory.
Game 2
After falling behind 1–0 in the first inning, Oswego answered with a big third-inning rally.
Layla Trendowski sparked the charge with a two-run double to center field, scoring
Kylie Detz and
Gianna DeGonza. Gabby Milazzo followed with an RBI single to give Oswego a 3–1 lead.
In the sixth, Oswego tacked on two more insurance runs. After singles from Detz and Phinney, Trendowski drew a bases-loaded walk to force in a run, and Milazzo added a sacrifice fly to make it 5–1.
Offensively, the Lakers pounded out 12 hits, led by Detz (2-for-4, 2 R), DeGonza (2-for-3, 1 R), and Haggerty (2-for-5). Oswego also benefited from key extra-base hits from Phinney, DeGonza, and Trendowski.
On the mound,
Chelsea Sellars earned the win with five solid innings, allowing just two runs on eight hits while striking out one.
Maria Lutz came on in relief and shut the door with two scoreless innings to earn the save.
Defensively, Oswego was flawless, turning two double plays and committing no errors—an effort that helped stifle several Morrisville scoring chances.

The Lakers will be back on the road tomorrow for their final doubleheader of the season. They will head to SUNY Canton to take on the Roo's in SUNYAC Play.
