HOW IT HAPPENED
The Pacers took the lead over the Lakers in the first minute of the game, 1-0. The Lakers tried to create scoring opportunities to tie this one up but in the 13
th minute the Pacers scored once more, and Oswego was in a 2-0 deficit early. Ten minutes later, Senior
Amber McDermott got the ball around midfield. She put on a series of moves and dribbles around the Pacer defenders. She found a shot and executed perfectly. It was a bullet right over the head of the Marywood goaltender. After a lot of action, the game slowed down towards the end of the first half. Oswego had some chances on offense and played pestering defense, but after 45 minutes, the score sat at 2-1 in favor of Marywood.
To start the second half. Marywood extended the lead on a corner kick to go up 3-1. Oswego kept their foot on the gas through the rest of the game. In the second half the Lakers outshot the Pacers, constantly testing the Marywood keeper. In the final minutes, shots from Sustad and Yancey were turned away, and the Lakers fell at home 3-1.
