BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The Oswego State field hockey team picked up a hard-fought 1–0 road victory over Brockport on Wednesday afternoon at Dr. Linda Arena Field. The Lakers relied on strong defensive play, timely saves, and a decisive fourth-quarter goal to earn their second win of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After three scoreless quarters, Oswego finally broke through in the 46th minute. Junior
Natalie Shields capitalized on a penalty corner, firing home the eventual game-winner off an assist from
Meg Kuebler. The goal was Shields' first of the season and gave the Lakers the edge in a tight defensive battle.
Goalkeeper Sam Krauthiem anchored Oswego's back line with a four-save shutout, turning away multiple late-game opportunities from the Golden Eagles. The Lakers' defensive unit held strong under pressure, particularly during a flurry of Brockport penalty corners in the final minutes.
Offensively, Oswego recorded seven shots, with Shields,
Sophia Prianti, and
Carly King each generating quality chances. The Lakers also earned six penalty corners, keeping consistent pressure on the Brockport defense throughout the contest.
