HOW IT HAPPENED
Set #1
After losing the first point of the evening, the Lakers got hot, scoring the next 8 points in the first set, including a pair of service aces from Grace Gdovin. Kalley Vugteveen tacked on 5 kills for Oswego, and the Lakers never looked back, dominantly taking set one by a score of 25-9

Set #2
The second set brought some excitement, as the Lakers and Golden Bears went point-for-point, tying things up at 5-5. From there, the Golden Bears went on a run of their own, scoring 4 unanswered, but the Lakers responded the same. This continued back and forth until the Lakers took a timeout down 10-13.

Immediately out of the timeout, Gigi Basile went to work, recording three consecutive kills, all assisted by Mya Bush. The Lakers continued to claw back, but a 5-2 run from WNEU was the difference, as the Lakers dropped this one 25-19.

Set #3
Very similar to the second set, this one was neck and neck. Then with the score tied 9-9, the Lakers found their footing and went on a 10-2 run propelled by a spree of attacks where everyone got in on the action. The Lakers took the third set, thanks to the winning kill from Kalley Vugteveen, with a final score of 25-16, putting themselves just one set away from victory.

Set #4
Grace Gdovin started out in the fourth set for the Lakers with a pair of kills, but the Golden Bears responded, and things were tied up at 7-7. A service ace and a kill by Priscilla McReynolds gave the Lakers some cushion, and Alaina Dudzinski extended Oswego's lead with two kills, making it 14-10. The Golden Bears wouldn't back down though, scoring the next six points, and retaking the lead over the Lakers.

After some back and forth, the Lakers tied things up at 18-18, and it was all coming down to the wire. Back and forth the score went between the two, until a pair of service aces came through from the Golden Bears, putting the Lakers down 2. But Kalley Vugteveen saved the day with her 15th kill making it 24-24. Priscilla McReynolds would make it match point for the Lakers with a kill from the back row, and Kalley Vugteveen would close the door with a walk-off ace to keep the Lakers undefeated.

WHAT'S NEXT?
The Lakers will be back in action tomorrow morning in Amherst, where they are slated to face off against Saint Joseph's College of Maine at 10:00AM, followed by their host Amherst at 12:30 PM.
