HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1:
In the opening set, Saint Joseph's struck first with an ace before Oswego answered with a kill from Alaina Dudzinski. The teams traded points early, but a series of Laker errors allowed the Monks to build a 9–4 advantage, forcing an Oswego timeout. Despite a brief push, Saint Joseph's extended its lead to 13–6. The Lakers responded with kills from Kalley Vugteveen and Priscilla McReynolds, along with a block from the pair and a service ace by Juliana Santafemia to narrow the gap to 16–19 and prompt a Monks timeout. However, Saint Joseph's regrouped with three straight kills to pull away, 22–16. Oswego continued to battle, with late kills from Vugteveen and Dudzinski trimming the deficit to 20–23, but an attack error sealed the set for Saint Joseph's, 25–21.
Oswego opened the second set with an ace from Mya Bush, followed by kills from Piper Adams, Priscilla McReynolds, and Gigi Basile, along with two aces from CJ Eidem, to jump out to a 7–2 lead and force a Saint Joseph's timeout. The Monks later chipped away with three straight kills to tie the score at 8–8, but the Lakers quickly regained control with kills from McReynolds and Kalley Vugteveen. From there, the teams traded points until back-to-back Saint Joseph's errors and another ace from Bush extended Oswego's advantage to 16–11. Grace Gdovin later added the Lakers' fifth ace of the set, pushing the score to 18–12. The Monks fought back within two at 21–19, but Gdovin delivered a key kill to keep Oswego ahead. Two late Saint Joseph's errors sealed the set for the Lakers, 25–21, evening the match at one apiece.
Saint Joseph's opened the third set with a 2–0 lead, but Oswego quickly responded with four straight points, including a kill and an ace from Grace Gdovin and a kill from Gigi Basile, to move ahead 4–2. The Monks briefly regained the lead at 6–4 before the Lakers surged back with contributions from Priscilla McReynolds and Lauren Cropp, pushing Oswego ahead 9–7. A kill from Kalley Vugteveen and back-to-back Monk errors extended the margin to 12–8, and consecutive kills from Gdovin, Alaina Dudzinski, and Basile widened it to 16–11. The Lakers maintained control behind more kills from Gdovin, Dudzinski, and McReynolds, forcing another Saint Joseph's timeout with the score at 19–13. Out of the break, McReynolds added another point before Vugteveen delivered back-to-back kills to make it 23–14. Though the Monks strung together four points late, Oswego reached set point on a service error and Gdovin closed it out with a kill, giving the Lakers a 25–18 win and a 2–1 match lead.
The fourth set opened with early kills from both sides before Alaina Dudzinski put the Lakers ahead with a kill, followed by back-to-back aces from Grace Gdovin to make it 4–1. Oswego continued to build momentum with kills from Priscilla McReynolds and Gigi Basile, plus another from McReynolds and an ace by CJ Eidem, forcing a Saint Joseph's timeout at 8–2. The Lakers didn't let up, as Kalley Vugteveen delivered two quick kills, including one off an overpass, and Lauren Cropp added an ace to stretch the lead to 11–3. From there, Oswego maintained control with kills from Vugteveen and Gdovin, eventually pushing the margin to 15–6. The Monks managed a four-point run, but Dudzinski answered to steady the Lakers at 17–10. Down the stretch, Gdovin added another kill before setter Mya Bush scored one of her own to bring Oswego to set point at 24–13. Saint Joseph's fended off one point, but an attack error ended the set 25–14, securing a 3–1 match victory for the Lakers.

Game 2:
Amherst opened the first set with a block, but the Lakers quickly responded with a kill from Alaina Dudzinski, an Amherst error, and a Priscilla McReynolds kill to take a 3-1 lead. The Mammoths battled back to tie at 5-5, but three straight Amherst errors allowed Oswego to regain an 8-6 edge. The back-and-forth continued, with the score tied again at 10-10 and neither team pulling away. Kills from Kalley Vugteveen and Mya Bush kept the Lakers level at 15-15, and the deadlock stretched to 19-19 before Amherst strung together a kill and service ace to pull ahead 21-19, forcing an Oswego timeout. The Mammoths extended their lead to 22-20, but back-to-back kills from McReynolds and Vugteveen tied things up at 23-23. Despite the late push, Amherst closed out the set with two straight kills to secure the 25-23 win.

Amherst carried their momentum into the second set, opening with three straight kills on their way to a 7-1 lead that forced an early Oswego timeout. The Mammoths extended the margin to 9-1 before the Lakers responded with a short run highlighted by a Priscilla McReynolds kill, trimming the deficit to 4-9. Another McReynolds kill and a burst of energy brought Oswego within one at 9-10, but Amherst answered with a kill and block to regain control. Despite strong efforts from Kalley Vugteveen and Mya Bush, the Mammoths stayed in front and pushed the lead to 15-10. The Lakers fought back again, closing the gap to 18-20 after a three-point swing and later to 21-23 with a kill from Alaina Dudzinski, but Amherst held on and capitalized on an Oswego attack error to seal the 25-21 win and go up 2-0 in the match.

Oswego opened the third set with a kill from Priscilla McReynolds, but Amherst immediately responded with a dominant seven-point run to take control early. The Mammoths surged ahead 11-2, and despite occasional points from Amherst errors, the Lakers called their first timeout trailing 14-4. Amherst maintained a double-digit cushion at 16-6 before Oswego began to chip away, cutting the margin to 19-11 and later 21-16 after a short push that forced an Amherst timeout. The rally wasn't enough, however, as the Mammoths reached set point at 24-16 and closed out the frame 25-17 on an Oswego service error, sealing the 3-0 sweep and handing the Lakers their first loss of the season.
