HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lakers were edged by York in a tightly contested dual that came down to the final bouts. York opened the meet with three straight wins, building an early cushion behind bonus-point victories at 125, 133, and 141 pounds.

Oswego responded in the middle of the lineup. At 149, Donovan Rail delivered a momentum-shifting fall over David Vacca, and Steven Ventricelli followed with a 13–7 decision at 157. David Hammerle kept the Lakers rolling at 165, grinding out a 4–1 sudden-victory win over Mason Skinner to swing the dual back in Oswego's favor.

York briefly regained the lead at 174, but Oswego answered again at 184, where Avery Canzano earned a fall over Devon O'Dell. At heavyweight, Dustin Koskinen-Falls sealed a critical victory via injury default against David Pierson, pulling Oswego within a single point. A forfeit at 197 ultimately proved decisive, allowing York to escape with the one-point win.

In the second dual, Wilkes capitalized on bonus points through the middle weights to pull away from the Lakers. Oswego got off to a strong start at 125, as Juan Roque earned a 9–5 decision to open the scoring.

Wilkes answered with a run of victories from 133 through 165, collecting multiple falls and a technical fall to build separation on the scoreboard. Oswego showed resilience late in the dual, beginning at 174 where Christopher Coleman energized the Lakers with a quick pin just 51 seconds into his bout.

Avery Canzano continued his strong day at 184, recording a 16–1 technical fall, and Dustin Koskinen-Falls closed the meet with a gritty 2–1 decision at heavyweight. Despite those efforts, Wilkes maintained control to secure the dual victory.
