Buffalo, NY. - The SUNY Oswego Women's Basketball team traveled west to take on the 2-12 Buffalo State Bengals in a SUNYAC Conference matchup, and came out on top handedly, by a score of 70-51.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lakers started out hot, with
Sarah Hirschler drilling a 3-pointer to start the scoring for Oswego. From there, Oswego held onto a small lead for the entirety of the first quarter, with
Zhane Holmes and
Giavanna White-Principio leading the way with 4 points each. They entered the second quarter ahead 13-8.
In the second quarter, the Bengals showed some quick resilience, matching the Lakers for the first 2 minutes. That was until a 10-point showing from
Bri Weaver gave the Lakers a huge momentum boost, as they went into the half with a 27-19 lead.
Out of the half, The Lakers offense exploded, going on a 17-4 run in the first 5 minutes of the half.
Giavanna White-Principio completed another double-double, getting both her tenth rebound and seventeen points by the end of third, and The Lakers headed into the final quarter on top 55-36.
The Lakers had all but secured victory by the fourth, and held onto their lead, topping the Bengals 70-51.
Giavanna White-Principio led the way for Oswego with 19 points and 13 rebounds.
WHAT'S NEXT?
The Lakers will be back in action tomorrow, Saturday, January 24th, where they will head a little further west to take on the Fredonia Blue Devils at 2:00PM.
