Lakers Earn Second SUNAYC Win of the Weekend

Fredonia, NY. - The SUNY Oswego Men's Basketball team looked to go 2-0 on their two-game road trip after a win over Buffalo State. They took on the Fredonia Blue Devils this afternoon. The Lakers were able to pull away in the second half and left 77-66 win on the road.

HOW IT HAPPENED
 
Both teams struggled to find their ground offensively in the first few minutes of the contest. The game was tied at 6–6 with 12 minutes remaining in the first half, before Fredonia edged ahead 10–8 at the 10-minute mark. Both teams went back and forth, trading baskets, with 11 lead changes throughout the half.
 
Oswego closed the period strong, going on a 9-0 run to end the 1st half and take momentum into the break.
 
The Lakers received a strong contribution from their bench, accounting for 12 first-half points. Forward Deacon Judd led all scorers at halftime with 12 points and four rebounds, while guards Chris Whyte-Luciano and Jayson McGhee each added 5 points off the bench.
 
Fredonia opened the second half with a 6–0 run, tying the game early in the second half. Oswego responded midway through the half, regaining control and beginning to pull away behind a balanced offensive effort. 
 
The Lakers were able to cruise to a 77-66 victory, improving their SUNYAC record to 8-2.
 
Judd finished the game with 24 points and 6 rebounds, while Arthur Foster added 12 points for the Lakers. Whyte-Luciano contributed 11 points and 2 three pointers in the Oswego win.
 
WHAT'S NEXT?
The Lakers return home on Tuesday, January 27th, looking to extend their SUNYAC winning streak to three games against the New Paltz Hawks at 7:30pm.
