Oswego, NY – The Oswego State men's basketball team turned a tight SUNYAC road battle into a statement finish Friday afternoon, pulling away in the second half to secure a 90–79 victory over SUNY Potsdam at Jerry Welsh Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lakers, now 16–3 overall and 10–2 in conference play, were locked in a back-and-forth contest for much of the opening 20 minutes. Oswego carried a slim 37–36 edge into halftime after the lead changed hands 11 times and neither team led by more than a possession.
Oswego found its rhythm after the break, outscoring the Bears 53–43 in the second half by attacking the paint and controlling the glass. The Lakers finished with a 50–26 rebounding advantage, including 21 second-chance points, which proved decisive down the stretch.
Jayson McGhee led all scorers with a game-high 27 points off the bench, providing a spark on both ends of the floor.
Gary McLane and
Deacon Judd each added 17 points, with Judd also hauling in 14 rebounds for a dominant double-double performance.
Freddy Fowler and
Steven Bradley chipped in nine points apiece, while
Arthur Foster anchored the interior with 13 rebounds.
The Lakers shot 41.8 percent from the field and went 28-for-40 from the free-throw line, capitalizing on opportunities in the closing minutes to seal the SUNYAC road win.
