Oswego , NY. - The SUNY Oswego Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving teams celebrated their Senior Day, honoring the hard work and dedication of 9 seniors, and defeating the Potsdam Bears.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Men's Meet
The Meet Started off with a celebration of the Seniors. Nathan Ratta Vine, Ryan Murphy, Lucas McGarry, Ryan Liedka, and Jason Ruiz were all honored.
In the Men's 200 Yard Medley Relay, Oswego's "A" and "B" relays took first and second place.
Senior Ryan Liedka finished second in the Men's 1000 Yard Freestyle.
In the Men's 200 Yard Freestyle, Jake Sarnowski finished first, with Jayden Hernandez and Nick Celentano taking second and third place.
Mitchell Stevens finished in first place in the Men's 100 Yard Backstroke. Antonio Medina and Lucas McGarry took second and third place respectively.
The Lakers followed suit in the Men's 100 Yard Breaststroke, with Peter Jenning, Ryan Gublo, and Ben Dorner finishing in the top 3 spots.
Josh Beardsley took third in the Men's 200 Yard Butterfly.
Nick Derick took first place in the Men's 50 Yard Freestyle with a time of 22.79. Ryan Murphy and Jackson Vignona finished right behind him, completing yet another sweep for Oswego.
Fin Doloway was the lone diver on the Men's side today, and took first in both 1-Meter and 3-Meter, with respective scores of 168.15 (PB) and 124.95.
Duncan Smith recorded a season best time of 49.60 in the Men's 100 Yard Freestyle, taking first place. Nick Derick and Ryan Liedka took second and third, once again sweeping the Bears in thai one.
Jayden Hernandez finished first in the Men's 200 Yard Backstroke, as the rest of the Lakers were exhibitioned for the event. The same was true for the remainder of the meet, as Ethan Calhoun, Antonio Medina, Manav Sindhi, and Jayden Hernandez each took first place in their respective event, completing a dominant victory on the Lakers' Senior Day.
Women's Meet:
The Meet Started off with a celebration of the Seniors. Anna Baker, Jayna Laferriere, Emily Lotito, and Abby Hinman were all honored.
In the Women's 200 Yard Medley Relay, Oswego's "A" and "B" relays took first and second place.
Emily Seldin finished first in the Women's 100 Yard Freestyle, with a time of 12:06.63. Kaitlin Wheeler and Abby Hinman took second and third place respectively.
The Women's 200 Yard Freestyle was a sea of Green and Gold, and nobody from the Potsdam Bears competed. Bella McDonald took first place, with Anna Baker and Allison Priestley taking second and third place.
The Lakers swept the Bears in the Women's 100 Yard Backstroke, with Katherine Burch leading the way. Maura Waite and Sophia Panetta took second and third place respectively.
Emily Lotito continued the Lakers' dominance in the Women's 100 Yard Breaststroke, where she took first place. Gabby Janeski and Willow Gaines finished right behind her, completing another sweep of the Bears.
Izzy Dague had a phenomenal race against Katherine Steeves of Potsdam in the Women's 200 Yard Butterfly. Dague came out victorious by a mere tenth of a second, with a personal best time of 2:20.52.
In the Women's 50 Yard Freestyle, Jayne Laferriere took first place, with Aurora Jarvie and Joscelyn Coniski right behind her, finishing in second and third place respectively.
Amber Burke and Maddy Van Bramer took first and second place in Women's 1-Meter Diving, separated by just seven points. Van Bramer was the lone competitor for the Lakers in Women's 3-Meter Diving, and took first place with a score of 149.50.

WHAT'S NEXT?
The Lakers will take a break from competing to prepare for the SUNYAC Swimming and Diving Championships, which take place from Wednesday, February 18th to Saturday, February 21st at the Burt Flickinger Athletic Center in Buffalo.
