How it Happened
Opportunities were everywhere for Oswego early on as in the first seven minutes, the Lakers put up four shots. This offensive power from the Lakers would not go away. Three more shots on goal for the Lakers almost went through in the 14th through 16th minute. The score was 0-0, but the Lakers put on a masterclass in the first half as they put eleven shots on goal and faced zero.Â
Â
Nothing changed for the Lakers going into the 2nd half but now the shots started finding the net. In just the second minute,
Alison Dimitrijevski got a good pass off the foot of
Solange Catano-Matip, and Dimitrijevski (first goal of the season) went low left, off the post and finished it. Fourteen minutes later,
Julia Carter would add to the Oswego lead. She found the loose ball and put it away to put her team up, 2-0. The Lakers didn't stop there.
Sarah Merlo (first goal of the season) was the scorer for the Lakers third goal of the day. She went high right and Oswego now led 3-0. One last hoorah came for the Lakers, as
Sabrina Schmitt gave the Lakers their fourth goal of the game to cap off a big win for Oswego.Â
