Oswego, NY – The Lakers indoor track and field teams were in action this Saturday at Cornell University in the Robert J Kane Invitational.

Highlights
On the women's side,
Hannah Reichard delivered a standout effort in the mile, finishing fourth overall with a time of 5:12.51. The mark qualified Reichard for regionals and vaulted her to second all-time in Lakers program history. Teammate
Elena Gaffney followed closely, placing seventh in 5:24.05. Gaffney later returned to the track in the 3000 meters and earned a podium finish, crossing the line third overall in 10:39.32.
In field events, the Lakers found success on the men's side in the weight throw. Eric Gordon-Wheeler led the way with a fourth-place finish at 14.91, while
Michael Carlson took ninth (12.27) and
Jacob Acosta finished 11th (9.82). Gordon-Wheeler also added an eighth-place result in the shot put with a throw of 11.90.
The highlight of the men's field events came in the triple jump, where
Cory Morton claimed first place with a winning mark of 13.60.
Darnell Johnson joined him in the top four, finishing fourth at 11.47. Morton continued his productive day with a sixth-place finish in the long jump (5.99), a ninth-place effort by
Alex Reyes (5.49), and an eighth-place showing in the 60-meter hurdles (9.24).
On the track,
Sophia Shatynski placed fifth in the women's 500 meters with a time of 1:33.33, while
Kaleigh Durso earned eighth in the high jump at 1.50. Angelina Buttigieg added another top-10 finish, taking eighth in the women's 800 meters in 2:35.60.
The day concluded with a strong relay performance as the men's 4x400 team of
Soren Wolford, Tom Mahunik,
Jeffery Simmons, and Morton combined for a second-place finish in 3:33.12.

th.
