HOW IT HAPPENED
From the opening tip, the Lakers operated with a level of precision that Fredonia simply could not match. Oswego jumped out to a 45-27 lead by the break, fueled by a balanced scoring attack and a defense that forced 18 Blue Devil turnovers. The Lakers' ability to share the ball was on full display as they racked up 18 assists on 35 made field goals, consistently finding the open man and punishing Fredonia from both the perimeter and the paint.
Deacon Judd led the charge for the Lakers, providing a spark with 24 points on an efficient 9-of-15 shooting night. He was joined in double figures by
Chris Whyte-Luciano, who tallied 16 points, and
Freddy Fowler, who notched 12. Perhaps most impressive was the contribution from the Oswego bench; the reserves accounted for nearly half of the team's total points, ensuring the intensity never wavered even as the starters took a breather in the second half.
Defensively, Oswego was relentless. They limited Fredonia to just 35% shooting from the floor and completely shut down the Blue Devils' transition game. While Fredonia's Martin Garza managed 14 points, he was forced into difficult shots all night by a rotating cast of Laker defenders. Oswego also dominated the glass, out-rebounding the visitors 40-33 and turning those extra possessions into 14 second-chance points.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Lakers will remain home to take on the Buffalo State Bengal's tomorrow afternoon at 4:00 PM when they will celebrate their seniors.
