Oswego, N.Y. - The Oswego State Lakers Men's Basketball Team was victorious on Senior Day over Buffalo State, winning by a score of 90-75.
The Basics
Final
Oswego: 90 (21-4, 15-3 SUNYAC)
Buffalo State: 75 (9-16, 5-13 SUNYAC)
Location: Oswego, N.Y. | Max Ziel Gymnasium
How it Happened
Two talented sophomores led the charge for Oswego throughout the first half, as Arthur Foster (Albany, NY Albany Academy) led the Lakers in scoring with 12 points, as well as a notable 5 steals through 20 minutes. Deacon Judd (Mohawk, NY Central Valley Academy) continued his excellent play, with 11 points and 3 assists through the first frame. Despite shooting nearly 60% from the field in the first half, Oswego's lead was just 5, as the Bengals continued to match the Lakers, shooting a blistering 56% from the floor.
In the second half, the gap began to widen, as Oswego came out of the break playing excellent two-way basketball, continuing to force turnovers. The Lakers led by as many as 21 in the second half, forcing a total of 18 Bengal turnovers, scoring 28 points as a result. The defensive capabilities of the Lakers proved to be too much for Buffalo State, who were also unable to keep pace with the prolific shooting of Oswego.
This game was the celebration of the Seniors for the Oswego State Men's Basketball team, which in this case is just one player, Tucker Rosbrook (Watertown, NY General Brown High School). To the delight of both the crowd and his teammates, Tucker made the first start of his career, recording 13 minutes, 2 points, and 1 rebound. \
This win also was the 300th win at Oswego for head coach Jason Leone. This brings his career total to 371!
