How It Happened
The game opened with early adversity for the Lakers, who went man-down to start and surrendered the first three goals of the contest. But once Oswego found its rhythm, there was no slowing the blue and gold.

Hayden Coney sparked the comeback with the Lakers' first goal and ignited a seven-goal unanswered run that completely flipped the tone of the game. Coney struck twice during the surge, while Logan Postel evened the score at 3-3 before penalties by Hartwick gave Oswego a two-man advantage. The Lakers capitalized, as Coney completed his first-half hat trick and Garrett Elston added a tally to give Oswego a 5-3 lead.

Coney continued his offensive showcase with two more goals, and Elston found the net again as the Lakers stretched the advantage to 7-3. After Hartwick briefly halted the run, Oswego answered with three more goals from Coney, Emmet Starowicz, and Doryn Leclair to take firm control. The Hawks responded late in the half with four goals to trim the deficit to 10-8 heading into the break.

Oswego wasted no time reasserting itself in the second half. Austin Sroda opened the third quarter with a critical faceoff win, leading to Postel's second goal of the game. Starowicz and Leclair followed with quick strikes to push the lead to 13-8.

Despite facing a two-man-down situation midway through the half, the Lakers' penalty kill stood tall. Defenseman Alex Klecha delivered a pivotal long-pole goal that swung momentum decisively in Oswego's favor. Moments later, freshman Nick Spinner netted his first collegiate goal, extending the advantage to 15-8.

In the fourth quarter, goaltender Seamus Hand shut the door. The sophomore was outstanding between the pipes, finishing with 23 saves and repeatedly denying Hartwick's comeback attempts. Though the Hawks managed one late goal, Trey Jones responded with a dagger in the final frame to seal the victory.
