HOW IT HAPPENED
Oswego set the tone early and never looked back, building a 40–26 halftime lead before erupting for 50 second-half points to pull away from the Hawks.
The Lakers shot an efficient 53.4 percent from the field while holding New Paltz to 50.0 percent shooting and forcing 19 turnovers, which Oswego turned into 20 points on the other end. Oswego also dominated the paint, outscoring the visitors 44–22 inside.
Deacon Judd led a balanced scoring attack with 15 points and nine rebounds, while
Freddy Fowler added 15 points of his own, including a strong second half that helped push the margin to 20.
Arthur Foster chipped in 16 points, and
Chris Whyte-Luciano provided a spark off the bench, finishing with 15 points on 4-of-4 shooting from three-point range.
Jayson McGhee added 13 points and five assists for Oswego, while
Gary McLane contributed 12 points and seven rebounds as the Lakers' depth continued to be a difference-maker. Oswego's bench outscored New Paltz 36–22.
After New Paltz briefly cut the deficit early in the second half, Oswego responded with a decisive run fueled by three-point shooting and transition baskets. Back-to-back threes by Whyte-Luciano and Fowler stretched the lead to double digits, and the Lakers maintained control the rest of the way.
Oswego closed the game strong, extending the lead to as many as 20 points in the final minutes while emptying the bench and securing another conference win in front of the home crowd.
