HOW IT HAPPENED
Oswego threatened early in the bottom of the first inning when Harry Uvena got the Lakers started with a single up the middle. Uvena quickly moved into scoring position after swiping second base, but the Lakers were unable to bring him home as Centenary escaped the inning without damage.

Centenary broke through in the top of the third inning to grab control of the game. Simeon Reed scored on a fielder's choice to put the Cyclones on the board before Blake Heitzman drew a walk that forced in another run. A throwing error by the Lakers later in the inning allowed a third run to cross the plate, giving Centenary an early 3–0 lead.

Uvena continued his strong afternoon at the plate in the bottom of the fourth, ripping a double for his second hit of the game and once again putting himself in scoring position. However, the Lakers were unable to come up with the timely hit, leaving the deficit unchanged.

The Cyclones added to their advantage in the fifth inning. After two quick hits put runners on first and third, Nick Friscia and Dominick Cheigo executed a double steal, with Friscia sliding home safely to extend the lead to 4–0.
Centenary continued to capitalize on Laker miscues in the eighth inning. Chris Clark worked a walk before advancing during a sequence that included a wild pitch from Oswego, helping the Cyclones tack on two more runs and push the lead to 6–0.

Oswego's best opportunity came in the bottom half of the eighth. Brendan Mair started the rally with a single, followed by base knocks from Jordan Ynoa and Daniel Winchester to load the bases with two outs. Despite the late pressure, the Lakers were unable to deliver as Centenary escaped the jam to preserve the shutout.

The Cyclones added one more run in the top of the ninth when Derek DePace drove in an RBI, closing the scoring at 7–0.
