Oswego, NY - Behind a blistering first quarter and a relentless offensive attack, the Lakers rolled past Canton, 26-9, on Saturday afternoon, improving to 8-3 overall and 2-2 in conference play.

How it Happened
Oswego wasted no time setting the tone, erupting for 14 first-quarter goals in a stretch that effectively decided the game before it ever had a chance to settle.
Doryn Leclair spearheaded the early surge, scoring four times in the opening frame as the Lakers overwhelmed Canton with speed, ball movement, and constant pressure.By the end of the first quarter, Oswego had built a commanding 14-1 lead, outshooting Canton 24-2 and dominating possession across the board.
Leclair finished with a game-high six goals and one assist, leading a balanced offensive effort that saw 12 different Lakers find the back of the net.
Hayden Coney added four goals and an assist, while
Ryan Rogers chipped in three goals.
Trey Jones and
Ethan McConnell each scored twice, as Oswego's depth proved too much for Canton to contain.
The Lakers continued to pour it on in the second quarter, adding six more goals to take a 20-3 lead into halftime. Even as Canton found more offensive rhythm in the second half, Oswego never let up, consistently answering and maintaining a double-digit cushion throughout.
Oswego's dominance extended beyond the scoreboard. The Lakers outshot Canton 72-27 and held a decisive 48-19 edge in ground balls, while also winning the faceoff battle 23-16.
