New Paltz, NY - The Oswego women's lacrosse team traveled to New Paltz, NY Saturday afternoon to take on the New Paltz Hawks in a SUNYAC conference matchup.

How it Happened
The 1st quarter started with the Hawks gaining procession getting the opening draw control. The Hawks then proceeded to strike first on the opening procession with a goal making it 0-1. The next draw control went in favor of the Lakers and
Aubri Greene quickly responded with the first Laker's goal tying the game 1-1.
Alexis Hill soon followed with another goal on a free position shot making it 2-1 Lakers. The 1st quarter went back and forth with great offensive and defensive processions from both teams, but eventually with the Lakers up 2-1.
The 2nd quarter opened up with an offensive procession from the Hawks. The Lakers defense stayed strong and cleared the ball leading to
Gianna Zerrillo to get on the board on a free position shot making it 3-1 Lakers. The Hawks quickly responded soon after to make it 3-2. However Greene didn't let them tie the game by getting on the board again on a man-up opportunity which put the Lakers up by two. Greene continued to pour on the scoring for the Lakers by getting her hat-trick goal making it 5-2 to end the first half.
The 3rd quarter started with a draw control from Greene. Both defenses stood strong and both teams were clearing the ball back and forth down the field. This was until Hill got on the board again making it 6-2 Lakers. The Hawks eventually got on the board again making it 6-3 with a few minutes left in the 3rd. Hill quickly responded with another of her own and her own hat-trick making it 7-3 Lakers. The Hawks ended up getting another goal to end the 3rd quarter 7-4.
The Hawks opened up the scoring quickly in the 4th. This made it 7-5 Lakers. Hill quickly responded with another goal putting the Lakers up three once again. The Hawks proceeded to go on a two goal scoring run throughout the 4th, but it was deemed to be not enough to stop this strong Lakers team. The final score was 8-7 and the Lakers stayed undefeated in conference play.

The Lakers will be on the road again Wednesday April 22nd to take on the Cortland Red Dragons in a huge SUNYAC matchup.
