Eighth-Inning Rally Spoils Fast Start for Oswego in 6-4 Loss

Auburn N.Y. - A strong start wasn't enough for Oswego on Tuesday evening, as Ithaca used a decisive eighth-inning rally to erase a deficit and secure a 6-4 victory at Falcon Park.

The Basics
Oswego: 4 (9-11, 5-1 SUNYAC)
Ithaca: 6 (12-6, 4-2 Liberty)
Location: Auburn, N.Y. | Falcon Park

How it Happened
The Lakers came out swinging early, plating three runs in the top of the first inning. After Harry Uvena sparked the rally with a double, back-to-back RBI hits from Andrew Dempsey and Dylan Rosenberg gave Oswego a quick 3-0 advantage.

Ithaca responded in the bottom half of the inning, capitalizing on walks and a wild pitch to trim the lead to 3-2. Oswego added another run in the third when Rosenberg delivered again with an RBI single, extending the lead to 4-2.
On the mound, Matth Krull provided stability out of the bullpen, allowing just one run over 4.1 innings of work. Cooper Klinger followed with two scoreless frames, helping Oswego maintain a 4-3 lead heading into the late innings.

The game turned in the bottom of the eighth. Ithaca capitalized on free passes and defensive miscues to tie the game before taking the lead. A sacrifice fly put the Bombers ahead 5-4, and an RBI single later in the inning added an insurance run. Oswego was charged with two errors in the frame, contributing to the three-run outburst—only one of which was earned.

Aiden Kerr was tagged with the loss after surrendering the go-ahead runs, while Ithaca's Cooper Albert earned the win in relief. Luke Zelinko closed the door in the ninth to record his fifth save of the season.
