New Paltz, NY - Oswego came up short in both games of a SUNYAC doubleheader at Mary Gray Deane Field against the New Paltz Hawks.

HOW IT HAPPENED
New Paltz struck immediately in the opening inning when Ella Sharrock launched a three-run home run, giving the home team a quick 3–0 advantage and early momentum for the rest of the afternoon.
In the 3rd inning, New Paltz broke things open. Brianna Hardwick delivered another three-run homer, and Lauren Serrao followed with an RBI triple, extending the lead to 8–0 and putting Oswego in a deep hole.
The Lakers showed signs of life in the 4th inning when
Kayla Doerre doubled to drive in a run, getting the Lakers on the board. They added another run in the 5th off a New Paltz error, trimming the deficit to 8–2.
However, the late push wasn't enough. New Paltz maintained control and closed out the game with a decisive 10–2 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Oswego got on the board early in the opening inning, capitalizing on early opportunities.
Emma Budzinski delivered an RBI single to bring home
Kira Wright, and
Mackenzie Carlson followed by drawing a bases-loaded walk to give the Lakers a quick 2-0 lead.
New Paltz responded immediately. Kelsey O'Brien singled to plate a run, and Brianna Hardwick came through with a two-run single to flip the score to 3-2 in favor of the Hawks. After extending their lead to three runs in the second inning, Oswego answered back in the third. Timely hitting from Kayla Doore, Gianna Degonza, and
Emma Donnelly fueled a rally that evened the game at 5-5.
The Hawks would erase Oswego's momentum in the next inning with Ella Sherrock delivering a two-run triple, putting New Paltz back on top 7-5. The Hawks added insurance from there, while Oswego's offense couldn't regain its earlier rhythm.
New Paltz went on to secure the 9-5 win, improving to 26-8 overall and 15-1 in conference play, while Oswego dropped to 14-6 and 7-5 in SUNYAC action.
