Oswego, N.Y. – The SUNY Oswego men's ice hockey team has announced its 2026-27 schedule, a slate featuring national-caliber non-conference opponents, the return of the annual Oswego State Hockey Classic and 12 SUNYAC contests as the Lakers pursue another conference championship and NCAA Tournament berth.
The Lakers will begin preparations for the season with a pair of exhibition contests at home against St. John Fisher on Oct. 17 and Nazareth on Oct. 24 before opening regular-season play on the road against perennial national power St. Norbert. Oswego and the Green Knights will square off in a two-game series on Oct. 30-31 in De Pere, Wisconsin.
SUNY Oswego officially opens its home schedule on Nov. 6 when rival Geneseo visits the Deborah F. Stanley Arena and Convocation Center. The following evening, the Lakers travel west to take on Brockport.
Conference play begins the next weekend with a challenging north country road trip as Oswego faces Plattsburgh on Nov. 13 and Skidmore on Nov. 14. The Lakers then welcome Canton and Potsdam to Oswego for their first SUNYAC home weekend on Nov. 20-21.
December features a conference showdown in a rematch of last year's conference championship at Hobart on Dec. 4 before Oswego closes the calendar year with a non-conference matchup at Nazareth on Dec. 11.
After the holiday break, the Lakers return to the ice as hosts of the annual Hockey Classic on Jan. 2-3. Oswego opens tournament play against defending national champion Hamilton before facing either Utica or Trine on the second day of competition.
The stretch run of the season begins with road conference games at Morrisville and Cortland on Jan. 8-9. The Lakers then return home for four consecutive contests, hosting Buffalo State and Fredonia on Jan. 15-16 before welcoming Skidmore and Plattsburgh on Jan. 29-30. The matchup against the Plattsburgh Cardinals on Jan. 30 will serve as the program's annual White Out game.
February opens with a home contest against Hobart on Feb. 5 before Oswego hosts Cortland and Morrisville on Feb. 12-13. The regular season concludes with a road trip to Fredonia and Buffalo State on Feb. 19-20.
The SUNYAC postseason is scheduled to begin with first-round action on Feb. 24. The conference semifinals will be played on Feb. 27, while the SUNYAC Championship is slated for March 6.
In total, the Lakers will play 25 regular-season games, including 13 contests at the Deborah F. Stanley Arena and Convocation Center. The schedule features eight home games after the New Year, highlighted by conference matchups against Plattsburgh, Hobart, Cortland, and Morrisville as Oswego looks to build momentum heading into postseason play.
