How it Happened

The Knights proved to have the advantage in doubles play, with the Lakers losing both the No.1 and No. 2 matches, allowing Geneseo to take an early lead. Despite the final scoreline, the No. 3 duo of Kate Hayes and Isabella Eason managed to take their opponents to a tiebreak before ultimately falling 5-7.

In singles play, the story remained the same, as the Lakers fought hard but struggled to gain footing. Natalie Pipes and Rachel Molloy faced stiff competition at the top of the lineup, falling in straight sets at No. 1 (2-6, 3-6) and No. 3 (1-6, 0-6), respectively. No. 2 in the lineup, Leah Bell, managed to gain momentum in her second set by forcing a tiebreaker before ultimately losing 5-7.

Women's tennis will head to Rochester to take on RIT Saturday, September 5th, at 1:00 PM.
