Fredonia, NY - The Lakers took on Alfred University today at the annual Fredonia Classic and earned a decisive 3–0 win over the Saxons.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lakers battled hard throughout the opening half, applying pressure early while the Saxons looked to find an opening. The Saxons recorded two shots within the first two-and-a-half minutes, but Laker goalkeeper
Lamia Kosick turned away the second attempt to keep the game scoreless.
Oswego continued to generate opportunities, with
Julia Carter,
Kaylee Elliot,
Kyla Sustad and Liliana Collibus each recording shots. The Lakers continued to push forward as the half progressed, and their persistence paid off in the 38th minute. At 37:18,
Sabrina Schmitt found the back of the net to give the Lakers a 1-0 lead, with
Elizabeth Cingranelli earning the assist.
Oswego quickly went back on the attack, continuing to pressure the Saxons' defense. Just over three minutes later, at 40:37,
Kyla Sustad doubled the Lakers' advantage with an assist from
Alison Dimitrijevski. Oswego carried a 2-0 lead into halftime.
The Lakers picked up right where they left off in the second half, continuing to pressure the Saxons and look for a third goal. Their efforts paid off in the 65th minute when
Kaylee Elliot found the back of the net, with Julie Carter providing the assist to push the Lakers' lead to 3-0.
From there, Oswego's defense held strong to preserve the shutout. Kosick made four crucial saves on the afternoon, helping the Lakers secure the 3-0 victory.
