How it Happened
Vladimir Lavrynenko scored 22 seconds into the first half to put the Lakers ahead 1-0. SUNY Oswego protected that lead through Ithaca's early pressure, with
Kyle Rose making a save during a stretch that included three corners and three shots from 7:55 to 9:12.
Dylan Manriquez later put one shot on goal and another wide, and the Lakers went to halftime up 1-0.
Kieran Husselbeck put SUNY Oswego in front 2-1 in the 56th minute, part of a stretch in which the Lakers recorded three shots and a corner in less than five minutes. Ithaca answered with goals at 65:31 and 66:55, then added two more as SUNY Oswego was held without another goal. The second half ended with Ithaca closing out a 5-2 final.
Kieran Husselbeck scored on three shots, putting all three attempts on goal. Lavrynenko added a goal on his only shot. Rose played all 90 minutes in goal and finished with three saves.
