Lakers In The Community - 2018-19

14925

OSWEGO, N.Y. – Oswego State student-athletes completed more than 4,428 hours of voluntary community service during the 2018-19 academic year, an amount of 1,000-plus hours more than the previous year. With approximately 416 student-athletes, that equates to 10.64 hours of community service per athlete, an increase of 3.34 hours from the 2017-18 campaign.

Altogether, Laker teams contributed to 72 different community service projects or events, which supported approximately 57 various organizations, surpassing last year's record-high of 53. These organizations ranged from local schools, campus organizations, county agencies and national foundations.

Each Laker team was asked to do a minimum of two events/projects during the course of the year – in addition to the annual leaf-raking project. This year's 24 Laker teams, however, averaged nearly nine (8.9) events/projects per team. Below is compiled data of Oswego Athletics' efforts in terms of events/projects, organizations supported and fundraising amounts.
