Matt Rakoczy was hired by Oswego as the assistant men’s lacrosse coach in the summer of 2016.
Rakoczy is a 2015 graduate of SUNY Cortland with a bachelor’s degree in business economics. While studying at the school, he played on the men’s lacrosse team for all fours years as a midfielder.
The Clifton Park, N.Y. native earned All-American honors three times (2013, 2014, 2015), Academic All-American in 2014, All-SUNYAC all four years, First Team All-ECAC Mid-Atlantic in 2015 and was named team captain in 2014 and 2015.
Rakoczy played in the 2012 National Championship Game with his squad falling just short of a title. He also played in the 2015 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association North-South All-Star Game.
In the year following, Rakoczy took on the duties of assistant coach at his alma mater. He currently resides in Oswego, N.Y.
