Eckert triumphed in the javelin throw at the SUNYAC Championships with a distance of 113 feet, 9 inches (34.67m) on her second attempt. She is the first Laker javelin champion since Heidi Armstrong earned the title in 2007 and 2008. She helped the Lakers to fifth place after day one at the championships.
