Oswego State junior defenseman Kevin Huinink (Whitby, Ontario) was named as the SUNYAC Tournament Most Valuable Player after helping the Lakers defeat Plattsburgh 6-3 to claim the SUNYAC Championship.  Huinink tallied two goals and one assist for three points and finished with a plus-minus rating of +5 in two tournament games.  Huinink’s second post-season goal came late in the second period of the championship game and triggered a four-goal scoring spree over a five-minute span. He and the second-ranked Lakers will compete in the NCAA Division III Men’s Hockey Quarterfinals against sixth-ranked Bowdoin on Saturday, March 13 at 7 p.m. in Oswego.
