Dylan McCarthy of the men’s cross country team was named Oswego State Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 4, 2016.

In this past weekend’s cross country invitational at SUNY Poly, he took first place while competing against runners from 11 other teams. In addition he set the record for the 6K by a total of 17 seconds (19:27.0).

McCarthy’s record-breaking performance ultimately aided the team to a second-place final spot.

The sophomore from Liverpool, N.Y. was named Rookie of the Year in 2015 and does not show any signs of slowing down. This is McCarthy’s fourth win for Athlete of the Week in his career at Oswego State.
