OSWEGO, N.Y. – Senior Jamir Ferebee of the Oswego State men’s basketball has been named the Oswego State Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Dec. 10.  Ferebee averaged 23.3 points as the team defeated SUNYAC rivals Oneonta, Buffalo State and Fredonia.
 
While on the road this weekend, Ferebee set a career-high in points when he put up 33 against Buffalo State to help the team overcome a 10-point deficit at the half.  The Staten Island native shot 53.3% from the field and 83.3% from the free throw line.
 
On Saturday, Ferebee notched his second-straight breakout game when he put up another 30-point effort in the Lakers’ 64-48 win over the Blue Devils.  The senior played all 40 minutes and shot 47.6% from the floor, including 50-percent from 3-point territory.
 
This is the second Athlete of the Week award for Ferebee who was also honored during the week ending Nov. 27.  The basketball team is back in action on Friday, December 15 when they travel to Canton, N.Y. for a 7 p.m. tip with St. Lawrence.
