OSWEGO, N.Y. – Tyler Pierre – of the men’s basketball team – was named Oswego State Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Feb. 17.

The senior averaged 17.6 points and 11 rebounds in Oswego State’s three games last week, helping them go 2-1 in their final three regular season games.

Recording a double-double in each of the Lakers final three games, Pierre pushed his team lead in the category to nine on the season.

The Deer Park native went 22-32 (69%) from the field and 9-12 (75%) from the free throw line. His season’s field goal percentage (70.5%) ranks first in the SUNYAC and second in Division III nationally.

Pierre and the Lakers head into the SUNYAC Tournament as the No. 1 seed, hosting the winner of Oneonta and Cortland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
