OSWEGO, N.Y. – Emily Costa – of the volleyball team – was named the Oswego State Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 29.

The junior helped push the volleyball team's record out to 12-5 with an 18-dig effort against Cazenovia College on Tuesday.

The Ossining, N.Y.  native anchors a defense that held Cazenovia to a -.057 attack percentage, the seventh time this season that the Laker defense has forced the opposition into more attacking errors than they had kills.  Costa leads Oswego with 197 digs on the season and has already eclipsed her season-high in aces with 18 so far this year.

Costa and the Lakers return to action as they host New Paltz in conference action at 6 p.m. on Friday.
