The Oswego State volleyball team needed four games slip past visiting Utica College three games to one on Wednesday, Oct. 20, at Laker Hall.

The Lakers won the match by the scores of 31-29, 31-29, 17-30 and 30-22.

Heidi Armstrong (Solvay) paced the Lakers with 14 kills, while Emily Horsington (Rochester) and Shara Dowd (Hannibal) each finished with 11. Amanda McManus (Solvay) directed the attack with 21 assists and Nicole Truax (Hannibal) chipped in with 18. Defensively, Whitney Lash (Lockport) had 14 digs and Patty Dingman (Clay) had 13.

For the Pioneers, Lindsey Doolittle (Barneveld) and Tricia Mirabella (Marcy) each finished with nine kills and 14 digs. Christine Mylott (Leeds) had a balanced match with 31 assists, 17 digs and five kills.

The Lakers return to action this weekend heading to Fredonia for the final round of SUNY Athletic Conference West Pool Play.
