The Oswego State men's soccer team closed out the regular season by falling to visiting St. John Fisher by the score of 3-1 on Saturday, Oct. 30, at the South Athletic Complex.
The Lakers cap the season with a record of 6-11-1, while the Cardinals squared their record at 9-9.
St. John Fisher jumped on the board early as Anthony D'Angelo (Webster) netted an unassisted goal 7:49 into the game.
The Cardinals doubled that lead with just over 10 minutes remaining in the opening half as Dan Roser (Andover) put a low shot inside the near post. Ricky Martinez (Lancaster) picked up the only assist on the play.
In the second half, the Cardinals again scored early as Mitch Daly (Jamestown) put a perfect shot just inside the far post giving the visitors a 3-0 advantage 6:10 into the new period.
The Lakers netted their lone goal of the game in the 77th minute as Justin Alric (Gloversville) settled a direct kick in the St. John Fisher penalty area and rolled a low shot into the near side of the net. It was Alric's first goal of the season. John Krueger (Clinton) earned an assist on the play.
Greg Keenan (Warsaw) made three saves for the Lakers, while Jess D'Eredita (Syracuse/CBA) registered a pair of the Cardinals.
