Oswego State's Chet Lunt (East Moriches) netted a pair of goals in the second half as the Lakers defeated visiting Nazareth College by the score of 3-1 on Wednesday, Oct. 6, at the South Athletic Complex.
The win puts the Lakers at 4-7-1 on the season, while the Golden Flyers slipped to 4-6.
The teams were tied at one goal apiece at the half as Lunt netted the eventual game-winner just 58 seconds into the new half. Scott Brown (Fulton) earned an assist on the play.
Lunt added an insurance goal 21:38 into the second half with Paul Palucci (Liverpool) collecting the assist.
In the opening half, Oswego State struck first as D.J. Long (Fairport) scored unassisted 23 minutes into the game.
Nazareth knotted the score with 1:29 left before the break as Matt Elliott (Webster) scored off of an assist from Jared Millbrandt (Mastic).
Oswego State goalie Greg Keenan (Warsaw) went the distance in goal and made three saves.
Andrew Evangelos (Mendon) and Alex Kilroy (Spencerport) each played a half for the Golden Flyers with Evangelos making three saves.
The Lakers return to conference play this weekend playing hosting SUNYIT on Friday, October 8th and then New Paltz on Saturday, Oct. 9.
