The Oswego State men's soccer team dropped its third straight contest as visiting Hamilton College earned a 3-1 victory over the Lakers on Saturday, Sept. 18, at the South Athletic Complex.
The loss puts Oswego State at 2-4, while the Continentals improved to 3-1.
The visitors got off to a fast start as Greg Rogan (Saudi Arabia) scored unassisted less than a minute into the game. Hamilton doubled its lead in the 19th minute as Zach Kelly (Niskayuna) scored on assist from Jacob Shapiro (Leonia, NJ).
The Lakers netted their lone goal of the game in the 25th minute. Chris Krueger (Clinton) started the play as he lofted a direct kick into the Hamilton penalty area where Scott Brown (Fulton) was able to deflect it Danny Hammer. Hammer (Syracuse) then redirected the pass into the Continental net.
Hamilton netted the only goal of the second half as Ian Hildebrand (Wilmette, IL) scored on a feed from Bob Barrowman (Glenmont).
Oswego State goalie John Spuhler (Fulton) finished with four saves, while Hamilton's Anthony Tripicchio (Clark, NJ) had two.
The Lakers will be home again on Sunday, Sept. 19 hosting Union College in a 4 p.m. start.
