Milestones reached in Lakers victory

Led by senior guard Kelly Mraz, the Oswego State women's basketball team defeated Utica College 66-51 on Thursday night at Utica's Clark Athletic Center.

With 21 points, Mraz eclipsed the 1,000 point mark for her career. She became the sixth player in the program's history to reach the thousand-point milestone. Mraz now has 1,013 career points. It wasn't the only milestone of the night, as head coach Michelle Collins won her 100th career game, all of them at Oswego State.

Sarah Lombard added 12 points and 15 rebounds for Oswego State. Jessica Tremblay had nine points and eight rebounds and Samantha Driscoll scored eight points.

Mraz led all scorers in the game, and also had five assists. The Lakers used a 15-2 run in the second half to pull away from the host Pioneers, and held Utica to just 21 points in the second half.

Oswego State has now won five straight games and stands at 6-2 on the season. The Lakers return to action Jan. 4 at Cazenovia.
