Oswego, N.Y.- The SUNYAC has announced its women's basketball all-conference teams, and Oswego earned two athletes with honors.
Giavanna White-Principio - First Team
Zhane Holmes - Third Team
Giavanna White-Principio (Waterloo, NY Waterloo High School) ended her illustrious career with an excellent final season donning the green and gold with a First Team All-Conference honor. She notched her second consecutive season averaging a double-double, with averages of 14.4 points, 13.8 rebounds, 1.0 assists and nearly 2 blocks per game. She set new career highs in nearly every statistic this season, and finished her career with nearly 1,000 points (971), and rebounds (984). A dominant force on the glass, White-Principio recorded multiple 20 point-20 rebound games. On 12/6 vs SUNY Morrisville, she recorded 27 points on 12/18 shooting (66.7%), 22 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 blocks, and 3 steals. This is the second time in her career she has earned first-team all-conference after being named co-player of the year last season.
Zhane Holmes (Elmira, NY, Elmira High School) was the second Laker named to an All-Conference team, with the graduate student picking up Third Team honors. Her scoring allowed her to surpass 1,000 career collegiate points, a mark that was achieved on Senior Day on February 21st. A former transfer student from Onondaga Community College, Holmes spent two seasons with the Lakers, with this past season allowing her to step into her own. She averaged 11.4 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game, as well as over 2 steals per game. Her best game of the season came on senior day, where in just 27 minutes, she recorded 26 points on 11/18 shooting (61.1%), 5 rebounds, and 4 assists.
