The Oswego State women's basketball team defeated top-seeded Cortland 61-56 in the championship game of the SUNYAC playoffs on Saturday afternoon at the Utica Memorial Auditorium.

Samantha Driscoll scored 16 points and was named tournament MVP. She was joined on the all-tournament team by Sarah Lombard, who had nine points and 14 rebounds. Kelly Mraz and Lyndsey Marquit scored eight points each. Oswego State's defense forced 24 turnovers by the Red Dragons. The Lakers led 27-24 at halftime.

Kaylin VanDusen scored 21 points for Cortland.

Oswego State earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament and will find out its opponent, game date, time, and location when the bracket is announced on Sunday night.
