The Oswego State women's softball team snapped a nine-game losing streak by beating New Paltz 5-3 in the second game of a SUNYAC doubleheader on Wednesday. New Paltz won the first game 5-1.

Carolyn Agle's RBI single in the fifth drove in Mallory Eggert with the only run for Oswego State. The Lakers loaded the bases in the fifth but a line-out double play put a damper on the rally. Michelle Jackson took the loss on the mound for Oswego State and Heather McBride pitched one inning of relief. Heather Merino, Laurie Volkmar, and Jessica Mills also had hits for the Lakers.
Oswego State 5, New Paltz 3
Britanee Eckhard's three-run triple in the bottom of the fourth inning was the big hit as the Lakers scored four times in the frame. Her bases-clearing triple was Oswego State's fifth hit of the inning. Missy Constanza had two hits for Oswego State in support of winning pitcher Susie Burt.
Oswego State is now 4-12 in the SUNYAC and 7-21 overall. The Lakers will host Geneseo for a doubleheader on Friday afternoon beginning at 3 p.m.
