The Oswego State softball team concluded its SUNYAC season by winning two games at Fredonia on Saturday. Oswego State won the first game 6-2 and the second game 3-2. The Lakers are 9-23 overall and 6-14 in the SUNYAC.
Oswego State 6, Fredonia 2
The Lakers scored single runs in the first three innings and added three runs in the fourth to build a 6-0 lead. The fourth-inning rally included a two-run home run by Sarah Castaldo and a solo homer by Laurie Volkmar. Kelly Cooper also homered for the Lakers, marking the third straight game that she has gone deep. Michelle Jackson was the winning pitcher.
Oswego State 3, Fredonia 2
Susie Burt was the winning pitcher and Heather McBride pitched the last three to earn the save. Each allowed one run. As they did in the first game, Oswego State scored one run in each of the first three innings. Missy Constanza had a pair of RBI singles and Jessica Mills also drove in a run with a base hit.
