The Oswego State men's soccer team went on the road and defeated Wells College 9-1 on Tuesday afternoon in Aurora. The Lakers scored seven times in the second half to earn the victory.

Oswego State fell behind 1-0 six minutes into the contest but turned the game into a one-sided affair. Senior forward Jason Popovich scored three goals and assisted on two others in the Laker win. Matt Glannon scored twice in the game and Jim Mertz, Craig Nazare, Matt Behrendt, and Mike Kincaid also scored for the Lakers. Mike Davis had two assists, and Steven Tracy, Diogo Moreira, and Nazare assisted on goals.

Three Oswego State goalkeepers saw action in the contest. Frank Battaglia played the first half and made two saves. Byron McMichael and Nick Liberti split time in the second half, and Liberti made one save.

Oswego State is now 4-3-0 on the season and begins SUNYAC play this weekend. The Lakers host New Paltz Friday at 4 p.m. and SUNYIT on Saturday at 1 p.m.
