Late goal gives Lakers win

The Oswego State men's soccer team scored two goals in the final 17 minutes and defeated New Paltz 3-2 on Friday, Sept. 22 at Laker Field.

Freshman Chris Carra curled a shot into the net from 20 yards away for the decisive goal in the 85th minute. Senior Pat Hurley was credited with an assist on the play; he also tied the contest at 2-2 with a rebound goal from his own shot in the 73rd minute. Senior Joseph Fabian tallied both goals for the Hawks.

Oswego State junior goalkeeper Shaun Sessa stopped seven shots for the Lakers, who improved to 5-3-0 with the victory and are 1-0-0 in SUNYAC play. New Paltz fell to 2-5-1 overall with a 0-2-1 mark in conference play.

The Lakers return to action Saturday when they host conference foe SUNYIT at 1 p.m.
