For the second consecutive game, the Oswego State men's soccer team scored a late goal that proved decisive in earning a win. The Lakers defeated visiting SUNYIT 1-0 on Saturday in Oswego.
Freshman forward Kyle McDonough took a long pass from sophomore defender Jeremy Scott and slotted home the winning goal in the 77th minute. McDonough's goal, his first collegiate tally, was the only goal of the contest. Laker goalie Shaun Sessa made three saves in earning the shutout.
Oswego State is now 2-0-0 in SUNYAC play and 6-3-0 overall. SUNYIT fell to 2-5-0 overall and 0-4-0 in conference games.
The Lakers outshot SUNYIT 13-11 on the afternoon, and Oswego State continues its four-match SUNYAC homestand by hosting Brockport and Geneseo on Friday and Saturday.
