The Oswego State men's soccer team defeated Cazenovia 2-0 on Tuesday afternoon at Laker Field.
Both Laker goals came in the first half. Michael Kincaid scored the first in the 23rd minute on a penalty kick. He was in alone on a breakaway and was tackled from behind in the penalty area. He then stepped to the spot and shot inside of the left post to give Oswego State the lead.
Another Cazenovia foul led to Oswego State's second goal, as Felipe Cavalcanti scored on a direct kick with 1:06 remaining in the first half. His shot curled over the wall and into the lower-right corner.
Neither team scored in the second half, but Cazenovia's Matt Judge forced an outstanding save from Nick Liberati and had a goal disallowed. Sessa and Liberati combined for the shutout.
Oswego State outshot Cazenovia 20-12, but the Wildcats held a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks. The Lakers are 6-5-1 on the year, while Cazenovia fell to 2-7-0.
The Lakers are on the road this weekend with SUNYAC games on Friday at Fredonia and Saturday at Buffalo State.
