The Oswego State softball team defeated Nazareth 6-2 and 13-1 in a pair of games on Saturday afternoon at Nazareth.
The Lakers scored all six of their runs in the top of the fifth inning in the first game, and Kaitlyn Thibodeau was the winning pitcher, allowing just two runs on four hits with two strikeouts. Heather Merino and Jillian Burns each had two hits for Oswego State, and Sarah Castaldo had a home run for the Lakers, and drove in two runs.
In the second game, Oswego State won 13-1 in a game that was shortened to five innings. The Lakers pounded out 15 hits, paced by Carolyn Agle who was 3-for-4 at the plate with two runs and two RBIs. Michelle Jackson, Heather Merino, and Mallory Eggert all had two hits each. Sarah Castaldo and Kelly Cooper each scored three runs and Eggert had three RBIs. Jackson was the winning pitcher, allowing just two hits and one run.
The Lakers are 4-6 on the season and return to the field on Wednesday at SUNYIT, before hosting Cortland on Friday.
