The Oswego State softball team lost 6-5 and 5-0 to New Paltz in a SUNY Athletic Conference doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon.
The Lakers are now 9-10 overall this season and 5-5 in SUNYAC play. Oswego State will host three more conference doubleheaders this weekend as Brockport, Geneseo, and Fredonia visit Friday through Sunday.
New Paltz 6, Oswego State 5
The Hawks scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh to win the game as the Lakers committed two errors in the inning and five in the game. All of New Paltz's six runs were unearned Michelle Jackson took the loss for the Lakers, allowing seven hits and two walks, with eight strikeouts.
Sarah Castaldo led Oswego State at the plate with two hits, a single and a triple, and two runs scored. Kelly Cooper also had a pair of singles for the Lakers.

The Lakers managed just six hits in the game, including two each by Laura Agle and Erin Tracy. Kaitlin Thibodeau took the loss for Oswego State.
